Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession dedicated to helping people restore, maintain, and maximize their physical strength, function, and overall well-being. Whether you're recovering from a surgery, managing a chronic condition like arthritis, or healing from a sports injury, physiotherapy provides a drug-free and non-invasive approach to pain relief and improved mobility. It’s a collaborative process where the goal is to empower you with the tools and knowledge to become an active participant in your own recovery, helping you return to the daily activities and hobbies you love.
Your journey begins with a comprehensive assessment, where your physiotherapist will take the time to understand your specific concerns, medical history, and personal goals. They will then perform a physical evaluation to diagnose the root cause of your problem, examining factors like movement patterns, strength, flexibility, and posture. Based on this assessment, they will create a personalized treatment plan just for you. Treatment is very hands-on and active, often including a combination of manual therapy (hands-on techniques to mobilize joints and soft tissues), targeted exercises, education on body mechanics, and modalities like ultrasound or acupuncture to reduce pain and inflammation. Your physiotherapist will guide you every step of the way, providing you with a clear path to recovery and the confidence to achieve lasting results.

What should I expect?
You will be provided a thorough assessment and diagnosis (if relevant or possible) along with a treatment to address the symptoms and limitations of your condition or injury. Your physiotherapist will also prescribe rehabilitation drills and/or exercises to help you manage symptoms or address limitations at home in order to encourage further recovery. Lastly, you will be given a treatment plan and/or expectation of treatment duration.
Does Physiotherapy hurt?
Depending on the condition/injury, there are treatments that can produce a slight discomfort but your physiotherapist will work with you to minimize this and ensure that you feel comfortable during all stages of your session.
How much does physiotherapy cost?
The cost of your session will depend on the length. Standard treatments are 30-minutes in length and priced at $105 to be competitive with the Vancouver region. 45-minute sessions and 60-minute sessions are $135 and $170 respectively. These sessions are all-inclusive of all treatment modalities (ie. dry-needling and Shockwave). *Specialized assessments such as Bikefitting or Running Gait Analysis may vary in cost from these listed prices.
