During the launch of a new clinic or during routine audits, Pacific Blue Cross will often pause the clinic's ability to do direct billing while registrations clear or applications are submitted. Unfortunately, that means that you may have to manually submit for reimbursement.
Don't fret though! The process is not too complicated, and once you've managed to submit it once, it'll go smoother the second time! Follow the instructions below on your desktop computer or via your Pacific Blue Cross mobile member app in order to self-submit your receipts for reimbursement.

This begins the process of doing a self-submission claim on health care services. Select the appropriate category, which would be "Health Care" for Physiotherapy, Registered Massage Therapy, etc.

This ensures that you are in fact submitting a private claim on injuries, conditions and treatable issues that are not related to any previous ICBC or WorkSafe claim in nature.

Step 3: Click "Can't Find My Provider" when you fail to locate us with the postal code "V5M 3K3"

Since we are not on the directory, you won't be able to locate us via the "Search for a Provider" window. Oh no! This will prompt the "Can't Find My Provider" button at the bottom of the screen to move to the next step.

Step 4: When the portal says "Provider not found," click "Continue" to move onto the next step.

This will move the submission to a manual approval status because we will be submitting the receipt standalone, without filling in the provider box.
This is essentially a loophole to get Pacific Blue Cross to manually approve the claim as you have a valid receipt, you simply cannot locate us due to our facility being new.

This confirms to Pacific Blue Cross that you attended an in-person treatment session but simply cannot locate your provider.

Step 6: Click "OK" and be ready to upload your receipt from your treatment session.
